Hello out there! Yes, I’m still here. My apologies for the hiatus in my posts, I’ve had a lot going on and, honestly, a lot I’ve wanted to say, just not sure how to say it. Here goes.
On Sunday, November 24th, Jason and I were on our way home from a fantastic trip to Nashville with our friends when my phone rang and my mom gave me some of the worst news I’ve received in a long time (and hope it will be some of the worst news I receive for a while). My grandmother passed away unexpectedly that morning. Mom and dad were actually on there way to see her for Thanksgiving when they received the news that plunged all of us into one step or another of the grieving process.
I’d like to just take a moment to honor this wonderful woman and, perhaps, let her know that we all miss her and love her.
I’ll share one final thought that’s been comforting me, particularly given the holidays. Though I’m more of a spiritual than religious person, I was recently at a Moravian Love Feast where we sang “O Come all ye Faithful.” And these words struck me
Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above!
If I had to guess, she’s up there singing right along with me!
