…or whatever we decide to call you!
The Feltis fetus will be the first grandchild for my parents, and as such they have the
privilege, er misfortune maybe?, of choosing their grandparent nicknames. My in-laws already have two grandsons and have been established as Nana and Papa, so with the exception of those names, the world is my parents’ oyster.
We’ve been all over the place, from my mom wanting to be called “Julie” and my dad wanting to be called “G” – for the record, I’m perfectly fine with G, but I can’t get behind a new first name for my mom. The latest suggestions have been Mimi and Pop, or, from my husband, Gooey and Pooey – again, I’m good with Mimi and Pop (even though I see my dad more as G), but I’m not sure about the Gooey and Pooey idea.
But regardless of what we call them, they deserve a huge THANK YOU!
Jason and I, along with my in-laws and bro- and sis-in-law, took a long weekend and headed to Charleston/Folly Beach, SC for our annual Bridge Run trip. This was Jason and my 9th consecutive year running and his sister’s 10th! With all of us out of town, my parents offered to watch our pups. They ended up bringing all 4 canines (our 2 and their 2) back to our house on Saturday – it’s easier to take care of that many dogs when you have a fenced-in yard. Knowing that they would be at our house for the weekend with nothing to do, they also offered to paint the nursery and install the closet shelving I wanted!!!
Here’s what the room looked like when we left…

Wow, right?! It looks so awesome, and I’m so appreciative that they offered to do that!
Next up, more furniture and more artwork… we’ll see what we can tackle this weekend!
